The Technician Supervisor works under the direction of the Manager, Pharmacy Technicians and the Pharmacy Leaders. In cooperation with the Pharmacy management team, the Technician Supervisor will participate in the development and evaluation of procedures and technology. The Technician Supervisor will assist in the evaluation of program change impact on staffing and departmental workload. The Technician Supervisor will apply team building skills to improve service quality and optimize productivity of the technician team.
EDUCATION:
High School / GED plus one year of post high school education or related work experience. Self study or formal Technician Training to become Nationally Certified. Technicians will maintain their Pharmacy Technician Registration/License with the State of Vermont Board of Pharmacy as well as their National Certification.
EXPERIENCE:
Acquired three years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician Certified or prior managerial experience. Demonstrated knowledge of skills required for competence in all areas of Inpatient Pharmacy Technician practice. Demonstrated leadership experience required. Healthcare experience preferred. Ability to develop competencies in all areas of a Pharmacy Technician’s scope of work.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
College level degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. One year of leadership or supervisory experience. Prior scheduling experience. Inpatient pharmacy experience.
