The company provides economic information and forecasts that assist New Zealand businesses and other organizations in making their planning and strategic decisions. The company specializes in economic forecasting and analysis, with a strong focus on New Zealand regional outcomes. As well as analyzing the broader national and regional economies, we provide in-depth reports on the building and transport industries.

Roles & Responsibilities

The company is redeveloping their entire suite of web products into a new unified infrastructure, replacing a collection of independently developed apps with a variety of implementations and technical debt.

Help rebuild Infometrics products in ReactJS
Designing, building and testing applications in ReactJS
Front-end developers with experience in Python and the Django framework as well, so they can contribute to both the backend and the front end
Experience working in small teams and being an individual contributor
Proactive in taking initiative – to think more broadly about how the particular task fits in with the rest of the codebase, and to challenge or clarify where the specifications are ambiguous

This Role Requires:

5+ Years of experience
CSS3, HTML5 and JavaScript, ReactJS
Collaborative development with git
Highly developed written communication skills to communicate internally and write technical documentation
Good understanding of effective data visualization principles
Python and Django
SQL and database management
Familiarity with cloud computing, Linux, docker

Ability to ‘translate’ technical solutions to non-technical people
