The Mastercard Commercial Card Platform, Smart Data, enables issuers and end corporate clients to manage their commercial card programs. It is the single-entry point to features and functions such as virtual payments, data integrations, account management, transaction reconciliation and reporting. The Commercial Platform team is responsible for delivering a best-in-class platform that meets the needs of commercial clients across the globe and delivers on our broader business objectives.


Acts as a business owner and manages long-term and short-term strategic initiatives for a commercialized product
Roles in this family oversee product evolution, establish go-to-market strategy, optimize products and resources, implement incremental improvements within the product’s life cycle, conduct ongoing care and maintenance, and manage P&L

Demonstrate awareness of Mastercard’s broader Product offering and the ability to leverage Products from other business areas to augment Product capabilities
Understand the Software Development Lifecycle and manage any barriers or obstacles to deliver capabilities on time and budget
Leverage data to quickly identify Product performance challenges, creating proactive plans to drive usage and revenues. Use data-driven analysis to prioritize resources to deliver against the plan

As a key player in our organization’s digital transformation journey, you will play a critical role in revolutionizing the global financial ecosystem. You will have the opportunity to make data-driven decisions, build first-in-class corporate solutions, and partner with industry-leaders to build cloud-native products and solutions for our clients.

Role Overview:

Serve as a product subject matter expert and collaborate with product operations and external clients to deliver innovative solutions
Navigates products through their lifecycle guided by the Studio framework:
Payments strategy: Identify strategic product “plays” and E2E approach to capture growth
Market Understanding: Develop deep understanding of customers, payments ecosystems, competitors, regulatory environments
Pricing and commercialization: Develop strategy to maximize sustainable revenue growth providing forecasts to enable planning
Go to market approach: Deep understanding of customer and ecosystem needs focused on value exchange and product readiness
Perform go-to-market activities by closely partnering with program management, global and regional leadership, finance, operations, legal, compliance, etc.
Partner with Engineering colleagues to create robust roadmaps that include all of the work required to bring a product to market focused on (i.e., commercialization and pricing plan; product readiness; delivery model; servicing model; sales enablement)
Embody the “Mastercard Way” through creating value, growing together and moving fast
Produce product documentation including user guides, product overviews and training materials
Operates with minimal supervision and able to make informed, well-reasoned decisions independently
Thrives in an environment that is fast-paced, rapidly changing, and customer-oriented

Required Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or relevant professional experience
Previous experience with product development or management
Experience deploying new product(s) to the cloud, or managing existing product(s) in the cloud
Must be able to demonstrate that you have a basic understanding of software engineering or technology (e.g., cloud, database, SQL or analytics tools)
Experience working in Agile and with engineering scrums
Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
The ability to work collaboratively with others in cross-functional teams to implement and assess the operational impact of changes to process and procedures
Experience in presenting and communicating complex/detailed topics.
Strong process orientation and a solid understanding of project management techniques, methodologies, and best practices
Strong ability to multi-task, organize, manage, and implement complex projects whether directly or through supervision

Nice To Have:

Experience working within the commercial card space or corporate banking
Experience with one, or more, of the categories:
Expense Reporting software
B2B or B2C web applications
Application localization
iOS and Android native mobile applications
Business Intelligence solutions
Ability to identify points of failure and formulate error-handling approaches for product resiliency
Ability to identify, assess, and manage tradeoffs
